Deep in the fires you filled me with desire, a passion, that I could never cease or somewhat fulfill. Once our eyes met I was trapped in your net and the snare that you set worked exceptionally well- almost too well. Icy wind blows right through my skin this cold winter. The seasons don’t change and I feel deranged. Outside your door it’s time to settle the score and though I love you, you don’t seem to treat me the same. Is this how it’s supposed to be baby? Is this your vision? I can’t help but feel that these moments we share have something missing and I think it’s love. Is it enough?

Skeleton 03:50
Well you pushed me too far, I got back into my car - man I hit the road. I grabbed all my tools because I guess I broke the rules now I think I’m on my own. You better get back, get on home. A lot of people question but they always keep their judgments. No the kids never listen, no the kids never listen to you. They’re all skeletons. You’re all skeletons. So we went to the east to spread love and peace but we only made war. If you throw a little rock well then I’ll throw a bigger rock until I settle the score. You better watch yourself. Run along. A lot of people question but they always keep their judgments. No the kids never listen, no the kids never listen to you. You’re all skeletons. You’re all skeletons. And we thought that love could tower over hatred, and if we spread love then we could make it. Benevolent kings could never commit treason. If they loved their children there would be no reason. You’re all skeletons.

Ghost 03:41
We all work till the sun goes down and we face it every night the same old questions. And we hoped the sun wouldn’t come back around somehow. We’ll face it the next day in a search for answers. It doesn’t matter if you’re a ghost even to the one you love the most. It doesn’t matter because you don’t know if you’re a ghost. Even if you might not be there, could it hurt just a bit to care? You never know because you don’t know if you’re a Ghost. Is it any wonder how we got in this tight spot? We pushed it too far and we lost direction-- and we hoped the sun wouldn’t come back around somehow because we’ll face it the next day in a search for answers. You never know if you’re a ghost even to the one you love the most you never know because you don’t know if you’re a ghost. Even if you might not be there could it hurt just a bit to care? You never know because you don’t know if you’re a ghost. Here comes a kicker, here comes a thought that I could become anyone that I want but you won’t. Yeah I know you. Here comes a blizzard here comes the rain and I could wash away like a hurricane and leave you. I’d leave you blue. Is it any wonder how we got in this tight spot?

All I Want 03:12
I always meant to please you-- even as a little child. I’d follow in your foot steps and stick with you for a little while. But in the end I’d find my own dirty beaten path. Lost with no directions unaware of where I am at. But oh my God, I keep doing wrongs. But you’re all I got. You’re all I want. I called to see what I was missing, called to have a little chat. I never thought you’d listen, that’s why I guess I never could ask. And you said don’t give up when you’re down on your luck. You’re all I got. You’re all I want.

Blood Money 05:20
Early winter morning, frost ripping at your face with the light slowly return shows a man so out of place. He’s broken and beaten, know the kids got no hope. His friends they don’t need him, say "he’s too strung out on dope." Until a man he comes along with a top hat, a pea coat, he says, “Kid you’re looking down, and I could help you out. I need a collector to rough up some fools. I need someone who’s desperate and singing the blues." "So give us some money." "You better talk now or I promise you this: You’ll eat your words in the shape of my fist, man you’ll pay. Cough up that money or soon you’ll be coughing up blood." Well the rich man got his way and the poor man got his pay, and they both felt good about it so they went their separate ways. The rich man kept living his thrills- he’s got million dollar cars for three cent girls. Well our poor man took his cash and he started living fast. Drinking champagne. using cocaine. yeah the good times would last- until a noise comes rapping from the door...they bust down that frame and came right back for more. "So give us your money." "You better talk now or I promise you this: You’ll eat your words in the shape of my fist, man you’ll pay. Cough up that money or soon you’ll be coughing up blood." "So now give us your money." "You better talk now or I promise you this: You’ll eat your words in the shape of my fist, man you’ll pay. Cough up that money or soon you’ll be coughing up blood."

Girl you want it bad, that good love you had. But you gone and done you made me-- you done made me mad. You’re always looking for love, or someone new. Someone to love, someone like you. Well you had me before and I walked out the door. Man our recent past, it sure didn’t last. How can you expect to take all my time when I know you’re gonna leave me right down the line. Pretty mama blow up my phone, it’s been a while since I called home, and if we’re ever gonna do it again. We’re gonna have to act as if we’re friends. Don’t you go and leave me. Don’t you go and leave me, girl you better believe me baby. Cause no matter how you play the game every move that you make is the same, and no matter which man you choose baby girl you’re always gonna sing the blues. So don’t you go and leave me- I’ll just end up grieving. Pretty mama blow up my phone, it’s been a while since I called home, and if we’re ever gonna do it again. We’re gonna have to act as if we’re friends.

I called on you, you said you were homeward bound- though part of you was still left in the ground. I wonder too, what happens when up goes down? A trademark tune not consciously wound around my finger. So we sat on top of the hill recalling all of our personal oil spills. If we gave ourselves a second chance, could we then find some way to dance? I tend to think so. Living could be oh so nice without a thought or two to think twice. Keep us laughing all the time, we could all lose our minds. Because our ambitions they get so high, our decisions can imprison our lives till the life that I’m livings not mine, but a mask to deliver my lines. It’s not unusual to have your questions answered, a practical use, an excuse for your kind gesture. Undo my attempts for starting a cold cold war, and pardon the things I never told you before your prayers were answered. Is it so hard to figure out who you are? A billion years shining bright like stars? Well you might think that you’re somebody else, but you can’t tell so you’ll probably cry beneath your own skin. Living could be oh so nice without a thought or two to think twice. Keep us laughing all the time, we could all lose our minds. Because our ambitions they get so high, our decisions can imprison our lives till the life that I’m livings not mine, but a mask to deliver my lines.

A long time ago we went romping through the snow and you held me close. By the fireside we sat trying to decide how we could make the most of everything we had. We were living in the past. We kept ourselves cozy and warm. Though we couldn’t see the pictures instantly we kept moving on toward better days. We had just what we had- we were happy with just that. Rippling along until we saw what all we had done. Could you see the waves that came from us? Growing larger each coming year. Isn’t it strange how we thought that the good times would always stay near? The pictures on the walls and the stories that were told stick with us until the end. Your eyes are looking down everything is much too loud- dead peace in summer rain showers. We had just what we had- we were happy with just that. Rippling along until we saw what all we had done. Shaken from the roots we’ll hang tough and pretend it’s just another day. Love is just enough to make love stay. Once you’re off the cloud and falling towards the ground to the place where you’ll stop- we’ll keep rippling along. We had just what we had- we were happy with just that. Rippling along until we saw what all we had done.

I’m getting used to it, the dew it sits on the leaves. Becoming used to it, the sky’s not as big as it used to be- and I get so tired. Tired of being bound by those rules, I get so tired. Directions no longer tell me what to do or where to move on. Blow through from week to week, quickly we all rush just to repeat our blues. Living from week to week leaves me no time to understand you. If I could just breathe, and take in the air that drifts all around us. If I could just breathe, possess my mind to find a direction to where we belong. Get on my level! This boy’s in trouble- best to get back to yourself because those days are gone.
10.
Sometimes life gives you lemons- but sometimes those lemons go bad. What you gonna do with that sad lemon juice? How did your life get like so? Nobody want to be confident, but somebody’s going to lose. The only thing to do when you’re too confident is grow up and sing the blues. Some days life takes you to the races- some days it’s the world versus you. When your fastest pace is still second place, oh what is a poor boy to do? Nobody want to be confident, but somebody’s going to lose. The only thing to do when you’re too confident is grow up and sing the blues. Just grow up and sing the blues.
